Welcome!

It is my great excitement to announce that the Golden Heart® Fairies have bestowed upon two of my books (LOVE & OREOS and LIGHTS... CAMERA... MARRIAGE!) the greatest honor in unpublished romance writing. In celebration of this great honor I am doing a 100 day countdown to the Golden Heart®/RITA® Ceremony at the annual Romance Writers of America® conference in Washington, D.C. on July 18th. So starting April 9th, I will be posting a blog-a-day (no REALLY... I mean it this time!!!) detailing the stuff I'm doing to prepare for the conference (Writing, marketing, dieting and what not) as well as some other fun stuff -- because really, how much do you want to know about my diet?! ;)

It's going to be an exciting ride and I'm looking forward to sharing it!

    Day 66:Liz–A photo retrospective

    Filed in: Blog

The Prince Consort and I attended a photography workshop with the spectacularly talented Scott Church. (Note: his site is NOT safe for work or children!!!!!) I went as a photographer, but part of the time, I modeled for the PC. He took the best picture of me I have ever taken. In order to prove that, I went back through my archive of images I have used for Publicity and the like… and I thought I would share. (more…)

    Day 80: Mississippi Squirrel Revival

    Filed in: Blog

When I was a kid, my step dad was a HUGE Ray Stevens fan. The Mississippi Squirrel Revival was a personal fave, and to be honest, I know the whole thing by heart. There was a discussion in my office the other day about it (wherein I started reciting it.  A colleague said, “Have you ever seen the video?” and sent me to you tube. I had not. It’s even funnier than the song itself. And So I give you… (more…)

Day 81: Love at First Site [sic]

    Filed in: Funny Stories

I admit, I can be a little cynical about love. (Particularly about Love at first sight.) Probably comes from getting your heart broken a few too many times. In my youth I fell in “love” all the time. And I was the first person to blurt the big “L-word” out. I am NOT that girl now. (As I’m sure the Prince Consort would tell you–of course, he’s the same way. I fully expect us to get around to confessing our love on our 50th wedding anniversary) ;) (more…)

Day 82: The Vikings are Coming!!

    Filed in: Blog

The Prince Consort, the Princeling and I went to the Ashville Viking Festivalfor the day on Sunday, which was a first for me. The PC, on the other hand, is a long time reenactor of the War of the Roses (Medieval) and French & Indian War. (He’s kind of a history buff, which is just one of the many things I adore about him. :D)

    Day 86: What is Romance?

    Filed in: Blog

The Prince Consort of the Universe is under the impression that he is not romantic. And I will be the first to admit he’s not an American Greetings sort of guy. He’s never brought me flowers or send me a card for Valentine’s day. What he is, however, is kind, considerate, and he pays attention to details. (more…)

Day 87: Web Tip–Analyzing Your Web Traffic

    Filed in: Web Tips

Wonder how many people have been hitting your site?
Wonder which are your most hit pages?
Wonder how people got to your site?

If the answer to any of these is YES, then keep reading. (more…)

    Day 90: A clean house = a productive mind?

    Filed in: Blog

    I confess. I’m a bit of a neatnick.

I’m not OCD about it (usually), but I like to keep my apartment tidy. With an Akita and two medium hair cats and wood floors, I’ve given up on ever having floors you can eat off of. (It’s shedding season as I write this, and even though I swept YESTERDAY, I have dust-bunnies the size of WOLVERINES.) (more…)

    Day 91: Web Tips-iGoogle & Gravatars

    Filed in: Web Tips

As an web/IT professional, I get a lot of interesting question about how to use the Intarwebs. Anything from “My calendar creator has completely lost all my data!!! EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!!” *waves at the Queen Mother of the Universe* to “How do I know when my favorite blogger has posted?” So I thought a brief review of a couple of my favorite web technologies was in order. Day 92: Bad, Bad Liz!

    Filed in: Weight Loss Goals

Some of my goal-reaching as not been going so well of late. My diet & exercise campaign in particular has seemingly been on a bit of a hiatus the past couple of weeks. (Fortunately, the scale has not been reflecting this… but neither has it been doing the free fall it was a couple of weeks ago, either!) (more…)
